The shipyard presently repairs and builds not only ships, but also oil tankers, offshore platforms, tugs and boats.

Turkmenistan's Balkan Shipbuilding and Repairing Yard Open Joint-Stock Company (OJSC) repaired seven vessels, including foreign vessels, in first two months of 2021, the official media of the country reported on Thursday.

The shipyard’s cooperation is developing in accordance with the memorandums of cooperation in the field of repair and shipbuilding, signed with the Tatarstan-based Ak Bars Shipbuilding Corporation, Turkey’s Derya Group A. Ş., Russia’s United Shipbuilding Corporation and with the Korea Research Institute of Marine Equipment.

The enterprise also carries out the assembly of metal structures of various sizes used in the construction of bridges, provides services for boring engine shafts, plasma cutting of steel sheets up to 100 mm thick, and implements other orders of subcontractors.

The shipyard presently repairs and builds not only ships, but also oil tankers, offshore platforms, tugs and boats.

The certification of specialists and the shipyard is also underway. The company plans to get ISO 9001: 2015 quality management system certification, which will allow the plant to successfully compete in the field of shipbuilding with foreign enterprises.

Since its establishment in May 2019, the Balkan Shipyard has repaired more than 80 ships, overhauling 20 of the vessels.
