The mutual trade between Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan increased almost 3 times compared to 2017.
Trade turnover between Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan amounted to $527 in 2020, the Institute for Strategic and Regional Studies (ISRS) under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan said in an article published last Friday.
ISRS said this indicator indicates that mutual trade between the two countries increased almost 3 times compared to 2017.
In 2020, Turkmenistan entered the top ten countries in terms of volume and growth rates in the export of goods and services from Uzbekistan, according to the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan. Turkmenistan imports agricultural machinery, fresh and processed fruits and vegetables, mineral fertilizers, building materials and chemical products from the neighboring state.
During a telephone conversation on the eve of the New Year, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev noted the positive dynamics in the development of bilateral trade and economic ties.
