The State Committee of Turkmenistan for Television, Radio Broadcasting and Cinematography was created on October 17, 2011.
The State Committee of Turkmenistan on Television, Radio Broadcasting and Cinematography will gradually become self-financing organization, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov gave relevant instructions in this regard during a working meeting on Sunday.
The Head of State also instructed to maintain strict control over the observance of the norms of the literary Turkmen language and culture of speech on television and radio channels, as well as to increase the responsibility of editors for the materials broadcast, TDH news agency reports.
The international media presently attaches great importance to the development of digital technologies and electronic publications, Turkmen President continued, adding that this is important for the prompt dissemination of important information in the global information field.
The Head of State also noted the importance of training highly qualified specialists and studying the best world experience in the field of television and radio broadcasting.
The State Committee of Turkmenistan for Television, Radio Broadcasting and Cinematography was created on October 17, 2011. The State Committee oversees seven television channels and four radio stations.
