Buýan Agro-Industrial Complex Collects 17.5 Thousand Tons of Licorice Root
Licorice root as well as its extract are in high demand abroad.
Buýan Agro-Industrial Complex of Türkmendermansenagat Association of the Ministry of Healthcare and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan harvested 17.5 thousand tons of licorice root in 2020, Türkmen Gündogary newspaper reported on Tuesday.
According to the newspaper, the dry weight of the collected licorice is 7 thousand tons. The enterprise produced 3 thousand tons of licorice root in crushed form. The plant also produced 1.3 thousand tons of thick and dry licorice extracts.
According to the director of the complex Meret Bayramov, licorice root is collected by 10 teams of employees on the territory of the Lebap velayat from Koytendag to Darganata.
The processing of licorice root is carried out in a special workshop, where using modern methods, the specialists obtain a thick extract of licorice (33-38%) and dry extract of licorice (3-8%).
Licorice root as well as its extract are in high demand abroad and are currently exported to China, Russia, the US, France, the UK, India, Serbia, the UAE and South Korea.
