Specific tasks have been assigned in Turkmenistan for the use of advanced technologies and the widespread implementation of the achievements of agricultural science to obtain rich harvests of agricultural crops.
The specialists of the agricultural department of the Halk Market chain of stores have tested the autumn potato variety this year, according to Turkmenistan’s Watan news program.
According to the report, the seeds of the potato variety, which ripen in 60, 90 and 110 days, were purchased from the leading German Europlant company and adapted to the soil and climate conditions of the country.
During the tests, up to 1 kg of yield was obtained from each potato plant. This figure indicates the possibility of collecting up to 25-30 tons of crops from each hectare.
The private farmer, who grew a rich harvest of autumn potatoes on a plot of 12 hectares in Ahal velayat’s Gokdepe etrap, plans to expand the fields allocated for potatoes and increase the volume of spring and autumn potatoes in the future.
