Comprehensive measures are being taken in Turkmenistan to develop animal husbandry, increase livestock and production volumes, and strengthen a forage base.
According to Türkmenistan newspaper’s Tuesday issue, the production workshops of Şabat OJSC in Dashoguz velayat have produced milk and dairy products worth more than 5 million manats since the beginning of this year, thus increasing productivity by 120%.
In October alone, the enterprise produced 800,000 manats of dairy products by processing 100 tons of milk.

The development of entrepreneurship facilitates the growth of livestock production sector of Turkmen agriculture. The share of private sector in this sector comprises 83%. The growth in the forage crop production improves the potential of livestock sector. Farming business enjoys the new opportunities in meat and dairy production.
This year, 208 members of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan received land plots for the construction of livestock and poultry complexes. Turkmenistan also allocated a total of 31.85 thousand hectares of plots to the private businesses for the sthrengthening of forage reserves.
