In Turkmenistan’s northern velayat of Dashoguz, mung bean harvest is in full swing. Daşoguzgallaönümleri Production Association’s reception points located in all etraps of the velayat received over 130 tons of the legumes, Turkmenistan’s Golden Age news outlet reported on Monday.
This year, the mung beans, which are a catch crop, were planted on 3,700 hectares of land in the velayat. The velayat’s largest mung bean plantations are in Akdepe, Koneurgench and S. Turkmenbashi etraps.
According to the report, along with numerous farmers’ associations, private structures also actively involved in the harvest. The mung beans harvested from the fields undergo strict quality control in specialized laboratories.

The farmers of the Dashoguz velayat plan to harvest about 5,500 tons of mung beans from the fields this year. The area of bean and sesame plantations has also been significantly increased in Dashaguz velayat.
