The new power units at the TCOR are expected to be operational in 18 months.
President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on Wednesday took part in the groundbreaking ceremony of new power units at the Turkmenbashi Complex of Oil Refineries (TCOR), the State News Agency of Turkmenistan (TDH) reports.
“Today we are launching the construction of two new gas turbine power plants with a design capacity of 70 megawatt/hour at the Turkmenbashi Complex of Oil Refineries and the reconstruction of the existing power plant,” President Berdimuhamedov said.
This commissioning of the new power units at the TCOR will ensure an uninterrupted and reliable supply of electricity to new facilities under construction in accordance with the Program for the Socio-Economic Development of Turkmenistan for 2019-2025, the Turkmen President noted.
Turkish Çalık Enerji company will carry out the construction of the new facilities. The units will be equipped with modern machinery produced by the leading companies of European countries and are expected to be operational in 18 months.
