The President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, has sent condolences to Myanmar’s Prime Minister, Min Aung Hlaing, following an earthquake in the country’s central region that caused numerous casualties and injuries, as reported by the official media of Turkmenistan.
In his message, on behalf of the people and government of Turkmenistan as well as himself, the head of state expressed deep condolences to the families of the deceased and those affected, wishing a speedy recovery to the injured.
Myanmar is experiencing the severe aftermath of a powerful earthquake that struck on Friday, March 28. The 7.7-magnitude tremor was also felt in Thailand and southwest China.
According to Euronews, the death toll has exceeded 1,644, with more than 3,408 people injured. In Thailand, at least 18 people have lost their lives.
