The heads of Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan are scheduled for mutual visits in 2024, as revealed by Uzbek Ambassador Akmaljon Kuchkarov.
The details, including timing and locations, are currently under discussion through diplomatic channels, UzDaily reported on Monday.
During this period, the volume of mutual trade between Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan surged more than fivefold from 2017 to 2023, reaching $1.09 billion in 2023.
The ambassador underscored the ongoing success in natural gas and electricity trade between the countries, highlighting an agreement for Turkmenistan to supply 2 billion cubic meters of gas to Uzbekistan in 2023.
Kuchkarov also mentioned plans for Made in Uzbekistan and Made in Turkmenistan exhibitions in Tashkent and Ashgabat this year to showcase the industrial and production potential of both countries.
