The enterprise produced 2,963 purified and packaged licorice roots last year.
Buýan Agro-Industrial Complex of the Ministry of Healthcare and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan harvested around 19 thousand tons of licorice root in 2022.
The enterprise located in the city of Turkemenabat in Turkmenistan’s eastern velayat of Lebap produced 2,963 purified and packaged licorice roots last year, the country’s official media reported on Friday.
The company also produced 680 tons of dry extract and 610 tons of thick extract from the purified licorice root.
Licorice has been known to doctors since antiquity, and its most useful part is the root. It is used not only in medicine but also in cosmetology and confectionery production. Buýan company’s products are in high demand, both domestically and internationally. The root extract is exported to China, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates and Serbia, according to the report.
