Foreign Ministers of Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan Discuss Cargo Flow at Border
Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov held a telephone conversation on Saturday with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Mukhtar Tleuberdi, according to the Delovoi Kazakhstan newspaper.
During the conversation, the diplomats discussed issues of cooperation between the two countries in the current epidemiological situation with coronavirus in the world.
The officials noted the importance of ensuring the high-quality and uninterrupted operation of checkpoints on Kazakhstan-Turkmenistan border and optimizing the flow of freight vehicles and accelerating the process of their clearance at the border.
The parties paid special attention to the transportation of freight by railways from Kazakhstan to Turkmenistan and via transit to other countries.
North-South railway corridor connecting Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan and Iran was commissioned in 2014.
